‘PATRÓN THE SUMMER’ ARRIVES IN BIRMINGHAM THIS WEEKEND!

This weekend, Patrón Tequila will host the second stop on its ‘Patrón The Summer’ cocktail tour at street food and drink venue, Hawker Yard, Birmingham.Throughout the summer, Patrón will be travelling the length and breadth of the UK, delivering simply perfect Patrón summer cocktails. Crafted by the most celebrated local bartenders in town, these cocktails include a mix of refreshing summer favourites, twists on classics and locally-inspired serves.

For visitors of Hawker Yard, the ‘Patrón The Summer’ cocktail airstream will serve three hero summer serves alongside a specially created serve for Birmingham, based on local trends and insight.

The airstream will be there from 5pm – Midnight on Friday 23rd June and 12pm – 12am on Saturday 24th June and will feature Mexican street food traders, The Mexican Bean, along with the infamous DJ Silence, providing the tunes for the night.

Mixologist, Thomas Matthews of The Edgbaston Boutique Hotel & Cocktail Lounge, will be serving up his own creation, Patrón British Summer Time, garnished with an apple fan and mint sprig. This refreshing cocktail with be alongside the Patrónic (a tequila-interpretation of the classic Gin and Tonic), a classic Patrón Margarita and the refreshingly fruity Patrón Paloma, made with grapefruit soda.

Each hero cocktail is made using Patrón Silver tequila, a 100% Weber Blue Agave tequila that mixes flawlessly into any cocktail, especially those that traditionally call for vodka, gin
or white rum.

Talking of his creation, Thomas Matthews, Assistant Bar Manager of The Edgbaston Boutique Hotel & Cocktail Lounge, said: “I wanted to create something that would be super refreshing for the British Summer, even though it only tends to last a week, but also
build in layers of flavour. The bergamot and apple really boost the summer vibes but the gentian and quinine provide a moreish, dry finish to the drink that makes you want to keep sipping. The curvature of the apple garnish holds beautiful synergy with the iconic Birmingham Bull Ring building. All of the flavours used compliment the Patrón Reposado tequila and its delicious balance of oak and citrus.”

The ‘Patrón The Summer’ cocktail airstream will feature an interactive mural photo wall, take a picture on your phone and tag using the #PatronTheSummer hashtag and your picture will automatically be printed out on site.

If you miss Thomas at the ‘Patrón The Summer’ cocktail airstream, his Patrón British Summer Time will be available as a special at The Edgbaston Boutique Hotel & Cocktail Lounge in Birmingham all weekend.
